Traditions - Power - Symbolism

Every three years, an entire village devotes itself to an ancient, almost mystical tradition which places particular importance on Tyrolean customs: the “Nassereither Schellerlaufen”!
Known far beyond national borders, the Nassereith carnival is an audience magnet for visitors from near and far.

Several years ago, this sensational tradition earned itself its very own Carnival House that’s open year-round; in combination with modern presentation technology, it’s quite a spectacular experience!

Here, visitors can marvel at colourful costumes, old traditions and large, charming wooden masks made by local artists.

Mask archive
The Nassereith carnival mask collection is one of the largest of its kind in the country! More than 450 unique and intricately carved wooden masks made by great local artists are on display.
